When Kids Go to School

The time has come at last
When little Sophie and Dean would
Take their bags with books and stuff
And off to school they bring their lot
To learn something useful in this journey
That we can call as life.  We, the parents
Are as excited and anxious of what it may bring
Whether, our little Sophie and Dean are indeed
Ready for the rigors of school of discipline and play
Or if they fit right in and enjoy school immensely
Which as parents, we do hope that’s how it should be.
I may think, it maybe too soon and my little Sophie
Is too young for the classroom.  But who can say that
At age 3 and 1/2 my little girl isn’t yet ready.  Now I
Question whether my boy Dean can be mature enough
Who at 2 years of age, would only care for milk and play
All day.  I would miss them most, I would be worried if
They are okey or if their enjoying school and getting stars
For the activities laid out for them.  But as parents, we can
Only hope and pray that our kids will do alright and learn
As much from school and the whole experience of it all.
